Determining the correct SEO and marketing strategies can be a bit difficult in this day and age. One of the most common “gray” areas centers around the use of outbound links. There are arguments both for and against their use and unfortunately, these strategies have often been associated with negative effects (1). This is much more of a myth than a reality. The fact of the matter is that outbound links have ALWAYS been used to boost SERP rankings and enhance SEO techniques. So why should marketers always employ these handy tools within their sites and what are some of the most profound benefits that they have to offer?

 

Added (and Scalable) Value

Even if you spend years developing a powerful website which offers turnkey solutions within your niche market, the simple fact is that you cannot be everything for everyone at the same time. To put it simply, some users will still not find what it is that they may be looking for. Quality outbound links can help to bridge this informational gap. Leveraging the power and sheer breadth of the online community will help to provide a better personal experience to the visitor. In other words, sites which offer relevant links to similar websites will be perceived better by the visitor. In turn, they can be prone to associate your portal with a higher level of quality. Let's also remember that tracking clickthrough rates and similar metrics is much easier if you include outbound links within your content.

 

Agreeable to Algorithms

We have all heard how Google is changing its ranking methods. Over time, these overlords have become much more discriminating in terms of how a website is perceived and as their algorithms become smarter, targeted keywords and a clean layout are no longer enough. Quality outbound links provide two major benefits (2):

 

  • They help Google to further understand the content of the page.

  • Quality links build a solid reputation and therefore, the page itself scores higher.

 

Low-quality sites tend to include spam-filled links and unsurprisingly, these portals will suffer in terms of exposure. It is likely that the algorithmic demands from Google will become even more stringent into the foreseeable future.

 

Linking Out and Linking In?

Whether or not we realize it, we are all part of a greater online community. One of the mistakes that can be made is to assume that outbound links offer a one-off effect and that this effect ends once the user navigates to the page in question. However, websites which provide reputable links to other portals also tend to enjoy a greater number of inbound links. This arises from the fact that third-party sites and content managers will appreciate that you are “spreading the word”. They are more likely to return the favor and feature your product or service on their page. This is perhaps where the term “link” came from; we are all parts of an ever-increasing virtual marketing chain.

 

Further Engagement

Finally, we need to appreciate that outbound links create opportunities for other professionals (such as bloggers, forum members, and social media experts) to visit and interact with your site. This can help to add a sense of reputability and once again, such engagement will further boost your rankings.

Of course, the term “quality” has been used in this article multiple times. It is only through transparent and trustworthy link-building techniques that you will enjoy such benefits. Much like any other marketing strategy, you get out what you initially put in!

When I read about the purchase of LinkedIn by Microsoft I had a great deal of interest in the matter since I have been working with LinkedIn for some time to take advantage of the same data M$ found valuable as a motive for their acquisition, but from the perspective of acquainting as wide a segment of LI subscribers as possible to the very real practicality of marrying social with a customer-centric marketing platform which is data driven, offers tremendous value as a global marketing solution in acquisition of customers rather than product promotion, but also with world class product marketing.

This portion of a news article really interested me: “The richness of LinkedIn's data is absolutely the driver. They've amassed over 400 million profiles, and what's valuable is that it's very high-quality data: It's added by the users themselves; it hasn't been scraped off the web; it's accurate and up-to-date. That's really the basis of the value around LinkedIn. And among other things, they've also created a very vibrant jobs marketplace. There are so many applications of the data and now Microsoft will be able to take advantage of that.”  This reminded me that the data a MarketHive subscriber gets from their signups is very high quality, maybe not so much as LinkedIn, but such that the profiles we get are the list dreams are made of.

One of those was the job marketplace that allows people to find potential employees and source candidates; another is the CRM/Sales Navigator product that was also based around this idea.” It almost seems that the references are to MarketHive which is far and away the leading player in this niche next to LinkedIn. Although our business model is somewhat different we fully embrace the ‘network effect’ mentioned in the article.

Videos have always been a high-demand medium for those who are looking to promote their product or service through online channels such as YouTube. When I saw the notice on FaceBook that Karatbars had launched my new friend, and fellow Karatbars affiliate, Dr. Debi Thomas's collector card, shown above, I was struck by her story and achievements, that I was compelled to write about it.  It is such an inspiration to people, who have struggled, fallen down, and gotten back up again.  And then to cap it off, take on a Mission to empower not just herself and a few, but an entire Region.  Also, it takes great character, humility, and lots of LOVE, to be so vulnerable in the face of others.  My hat is off to you both, Jamie & Debi.  I wish you much Success in your Mission, and I will do what I can to contribute to it.  And my friends will, too.

There is No Shame in falling down.  All the greats have done so, at some point in their lives.  The shame is in not getting back up.  The book says, "…judge not, that ye be not judged." And here are some holy words of GOD that I keep very close to my heart, "…Here no evil and see no evil, abase not thyself, neither sigh and weep.  Speak no evil, that thou mayest not hear it spoken unto thee, and magnify not the faults of others that thine own faults may not appear great; and wish not the abasement of anyone, that thine own abasement be not exposed. It is very simple and yet, it is very complex to describe. Zen Buddhism is a path and a vision of life that does not belong to any of the formal categories of modern Western thought. Zen is not a religion or a philosophy; there is a certain degree of psychology and science. It is an example of what is in India and China  known as a “Path of Liberation”, and in this sense is similar to Taoism, Vedanta, and Yoga, Zen does not force anyone to change their beliefs and their lives. Everyone has the freedom to believe in their own ideals and truths.

Zen, is a form of Buddhism that emphasizes seeking one’s own Buddha nature through meditation.

The purpose of Zen practice is to become fully consciousHere and Now! To become one with the present moment; It is to be truly in the place in which we live. The purpose of the practice of Zen is to experience our true nature, our Buddha nature!

Defining Zen is like trying to describe the ocean to someone who has never been close to the seashore. Zen is just to sit without any purpose or spirit of enjoyment, if the posture, breathing, and attitude are in harmony, you experience the true Zen, the Buddha nature is perceived.

Zen Buddhism is a practice that has been transmitted without interruption from master to disciple, that goes back to the spiritual awakening (Satori in Japanese) of a man named Siddhartha Gautama (Shakyamuni Gautama in Japanese) – The Buddha, 2,500 years ago in India.

Zen Buddhism is not a theory, an idea, or a statement of understanding. It is not a belief, a dogma or a religion; but rather, it is a practical experience. You cannot understand Zen through the intellect; you must experience it, in person. Zen is not a moral teaching, nor a dogma. It does not require that you believe in anything in particular.

Zen practice is the process of learning how to live one’s life in accord with the teachings of the Buddha; being awake and aware and cultivating the inherently human qualities of wisdom and compassion.

Where Zen differs from other forms of Buddhist practice is the emphasis on using Zazen, or seated meditation, to look into one’s own nature. There are thousands of books on Zen and Buddhism, but to practice Zen, you don’t have to read a single one. The direct experience of reality, and living in accord with this, is available to each one of us at every moment.

Being Zen is to learn to forget oneself and thus be able to concentrate on one thing. Being Zen is to know how to make silence within yourself and discover our true dimension. The secret of Zen is Zazen or seated meditation.

SERP rankings are important for your business to enjoy the success that it deserves. Unfortunately, we can often become too caught up in standard marketing approaches and fail to realize that many of these could be outdated due to a Google algorithmic update.

Although even the experts are not certain as to what we can expect for 2016, there are a few likely trends which could very well take shape in the months ahead. Let's take a look at a handful of the most dramatic.

 

Duration-Based Video Rankings

This trend is actually quite interesting, for it signals that Google is placing more importance on the overall user experience than ever before. We are all aware that videos now play a massive role in rankings and client conversions, but this is predicted to substantially change in 2016 (1). Google will now view how long a visitor spends watching a video under the assumption that longer viewing times indicate content of a higher quality. So, this could also affect your SERP rankings. Keep your videos short, to the point and most importantly, entertaining!

 

Email Interaction

This next prediction has actually caught some users by surprise. In the past, companies would have been only mildly concerned with how their emails were categorized based upon their content. It was volume more than anything else. Some believe that Google may begin to incorporate which folder an email is sent to alongside standard rankings.

 

For example, messages which are defined as spam could have an impact upon your overall rankings. This very same concept could apply if a user automatically marks an email as spam or places it into her or her junk folder. So, quality will need to be emphasized over sheer quantity.

Rich Search Results

You may have noticed that certain searches provide more in-depth results (such as Wikipedia, Google maps or links to videos) than others. This is another “wave” within the SERP Ocean that is expected to take shape. This is actually considered to be more of an ongoing trend than a future prediction (2).

I have been an entrepreneur since the age of 12 when I got my first of three paper routes before the age of 14.  I was the first of eight children.  I have worked a job of some kind since the age of 14, and throughout my Junior and Senior High School years.  We were poor so I had to help out.  I did not go to college , but I did graduate from High School.

 

I have always had a love for people.  I meet No Strangers.  As a newly-wed when I was 22, I was introduced to Home-Based business for the very first time in 1972.  Since that time I have worked some kind of Home-based business along side my J.O.B. every year til 2014.

 

July of 2013 I found the Home-based business that has allowed me to experience the Greatest Success Of My Life.  And in March of 2014 I was able to Quit my J.O.B.

 

In 2004, my mission statement was made clear to me, “To seek, embrace and teach, spiritual, financial, and healthcare for all people, by increasing more life for more people, and creating new possibilities for myself and others, that I may fulfill Your words that says, “… By the Most Great Name!  The splendor of such a wealthy man shall illuminate the dwellers of heaven even as the sun enlightens the people of the earth!”  And that I may travel teach throughout Central States spreading Your fragrances of holiness that You direct me to, and that I may sustain myself, and teach others to sustain themselves through the entrepreneurial efforts You have guided me too.”
